This is explanation of how the events of the post reconstruction era created a new mindset in African Americans and created the New Negro movement.
The end of World War I fostered a new way of thinking for African Americans. Thousands of African Americans migrated from the Jim Crow South to the large industrial cities in the North. Within those cities, African Americans promoted a new sense of racial pride and economic independence, coined "The New Negro Movement."
